|Welcome to Sproatley C.E.V.C Primary School|
On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors of Sproatley Endowed C.E. (V.C) Primary, I welcome you to our school. Sproatley School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School in the York Diocese and in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
We are a small friendly, happy and successful church school, set in extensive grounds and in the beautiful village of Sproatley. We also serve several villages around Sproatley. We cater for children aged 3 - 11 and currently have 133 children including those who attend part time. Our Early Years Foundation Unit provides an important stepping stone between nursery education and full time school, for children aged between 3 and 5. Pupils start our nursery the term after their third birthday and begin to develop and build new skills early in their lives. A great deal of time and effort is spent in making our school a really special place to learn.
We strive to make sure everyone at our Church school feels valued and part of our school community. Our three core Christian values - Friendship, Compassion and Trust - run through the heart of our school. We offer all of our children an excellent education that is full of challenge, interest and fun. Developing the whole child is important to us and that aim is reflected in all we do. Every child is encouraged to develop good attitudes to their learning, build their self-confidence, develop independence, persevere when they are challenged and use their initiative to make informed decisions about their own learning.
We have a nurture teaching assistant, Ms Bhattacharjee and she is here specifically to support the emotional wellbeing of our pupils. We work to achieve the very best for our children, in co-operation and partnership with parents and carers, Governors, the village community, the York Diocese and the East Riding of Yorkshire Local Authority.
We are proud of the achievements of our children and we aim to help every child develop a positive approach to life whilst achieving their own individual potential.
Mrs G Pepper
